Jewel In Gulf Crown’s Tourism and Aviation Potential

Oman has long had the strategic direction, commitment and courage to proactively drive non petroleum based economic development; and one of the key pillars of this diversification has been her tourism potential. Oman has long and richly deserved her title of being the jewel in the Gulf for her natural beauty, people and tourism potential. It is therefore enormously pleasing to see a recent Oman CEO Survey carried out by Oxford Business Group that reflects confidence in the Omani tourist market as part of Oman’s Vision 2020

A recent report by Colliers International, commissioned by Arabian Travel Market, suggests that tourism in the Sultanate will rise to 3.5 million visitors and a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5 percent between 2018 and 202, complemented by potentially 20 new hotels expected to open in Muscat in 2019 alone

All of this is further encouraged by the Oman Aviation Group’s recent forecasts that the Sultanate is to see growth of up to 40 million airport passengers by 2030. Oman has an amazing and exciting potential future as a regional tourism, business and travel hub.
